Hello SealFit community,
In addition to the SealFit Training Program, I have been a member of a self-defense course for Krav Maga for 5 months. My question now would be whether I should skip the Sealfit training on the days when I have my krav maga course or limit it to strength exercises and baseline. For example, I could do the OPWOD training on Monday, Wednesday and Friday and combine my self-defense training with a few more strength exercises for an hour on Tuesday and Thursday.
But what do you think of that?
It would be great if you could give me some tips.
Thanks a lot!
Nicolas
Hey buddy. Personally, I’d skip SEALFIT training on the days of Krav Maga. SEALFIT training is intense and if your joints are battered from training, the Krav Maga could push your joints over the edge.
Of course it depends on your recovery ability too. If your nutrition, recovery, and sleep are on point there is an argument you could get away with combining both.
I am 46 I have been in Krav for few years and would do opwods and would do 2 hours Krav classes 3x per week. Phil is right I started getting hurt more and more in 2020 I did 2 24 hour events also and just kept trying but as Phil said it took its toll. I think it can be done but nutrition sleep and recovery have to be on point !!! I’m starting back up. I think you have the right idea scale it on Krav days I will do the whole opwod but scale rounds and weights. Hope this helps. By the where do you do Krav I am so cal at West Coast Krav Maga
